Nothing Fancy...

But I just finished making a lined messenger bag! I'm not in love with it, but I used up some tan corduroy fabric that I bought years a go and it was a good confidence building project.

Unfortunately my sewing machine kept getting stuck when I was trying to go through several layers of fabric. I would love to get a nicer one, but I think I need to wait and see if sewing is something I'm going to stick with or not.

Slightly Demented Sewing Project

I am attempting to learn how to sew. I have a cheap sewing machine, a Baby Lock Demin Pro, that I bought years ago. I made a few small projects, but then got distracted by other crafty things (this is a frequent bad habit of mine).

I still have TONS of fabric I had bought back then though, and I do really still want to learn. So this weekend I picked up a few new tools (a zipper, some remnants, a rotary cutter, and cutting mat) and now I am attempting to make some bags.

First project: Wristlet
This was definitely a learning experience! I must have seen and ripped apart this thing apart at least 5 times. It's smaller than it should be because of all the fraying from ripping it apart so many times. The strap is also sewn on at the wrong angle...

Still, I learned how to make a lined pouch and I am much less afraid of zippers now. Plus, I think now I known what I was doing wrong so I am sure the next one will come out much better!
