So a few weeks ago I took a personal day on a Friday and ended up going into Boston to see the Harry Potter exihibit at the Museum of Science. It was nice, but I am not sure if it was worth the $26 price. Thankfully I got $10 off for being a teacher, that plus the free admission to the rest of the museum, made it worth it. There were lots of cool movie props to admire, but it was smaller and less interactive than the Lord of the Rings exhibit a few years back.
However, I did spend a far amount of time being amused by this little guy!
Well my Feb socks have had a major set back. I was making the Widdweshins pattern by Brooke Chenoweth Creel. I found the toe up construction with an actual heel turn and flap intriguing, however I kept wondering how they would fit on my big feet...
Turns out that they don't! There just are not enough gussett increases in the pattern to accommodate my rather large ankles, so when I tries them on they were tight and uncomfortable. I know I could do some math and figure out how to rework the pattern, but I don't really feel like it. However, I did like the cable rib stitch pattern so the socks have been frogged and are now being reworked as cuff down with the same stitch pattern!
