King Richard's Faire

I kind of forgot about these pictures... I went to King Richard's Faire back in October, and it was a lot more fun than I had expected. My favorite part was the vampire musical. They did some really funny parodies of popular songs that had me laughing hysterically!

The King:

Baby Tigers:

Bite Me: A Vampire Musical

The Mud Show:

Liger:

The pictures are not great, I forgot my camera and had to take them with my phone... I definetely want to go again next year, but when it is warmer out. I was freezing!

We also passed and Ocean Spray cranberry bog on the way there:

my weekend...

I didn't do anything particularly exciting, but all and all this was one of the better weekends I've had in a while. There was sushi and tv, bacon, eggs and The Soup, some cleaning and then coat shopping, knitting and Indian food, and finally dinner at my parents' house. Now if only my MacBook screen would turn on I would be very happy!

I also made some progress on my Adamas Shawl, which I feel like I've been working on forever... Hopefully it will be finished soon!

I am using some lovely Misti Alpaca Lace:

Beard Heads keep you fashionably warm

The cold weather is just setting in for a long cold winter, so you might as well get some gear that makes a statement.  Even if you can't seem to grow your own beard and mustache, you can have a Beard Head to keep you warm.  Plus it'll give you that fluffy beard you've always wanted.  The Pirate Beard Head is black, the Grandpa Beard Head is grey, the Lumberjack Beard Head is brown and finally the Viking Beard Head is yellow.  These are all one size fits most and the knit caps are machine washable.

so much knitting to do, so little time...

I feel like I've been barely getting any knitting done lately.  I started a pair of socks... but a couple inches in I decided I didn't like the pattern with the yarn I was using.  I've been working on my Adamas Shawl for forever.  I have start and frogged, or finished and frogged, several other projects in the last 6 months... I really want to start a sweater but I am broke and really shouldn't buy any yarn.  I am seriously considering using some of the nasty acrylic I have lying around.  I know I should do some holiday knitting, it would probably be cheaper than buying gifts... but I am feeling selfish.  The little time that I have to knit I would like to use to knit for myself... I don't know how other people schedule in knitting time!  I am up by 5/5:30, rarely get home from work until 6:15 or later...  Then on the weekends I can barely keep up with the laundry, the cleaning, and preparing for the next week of teaching...  that and I think Facebook is stealing far to many hours of my life!

attempting to blog again...

As I looked back at old posts I realize I haven't used blogger since 2007... quite a while to go with out writing anything.  In my defense I was using my .mac site for a while, but when my mac crashed I lost the ability to update that page without starting completely from scratch.  While I love iWeb and my mac, I remembered that this blogger was already set up and ready to go.  Plus, the ability to email posts to it and send texts from my phone is very appealing.  I am sure there are plenty of sites that have this cability, but again this one was already all set up and ready to go.  I'm not sure who I think will actually read this.  I suppose it is really just more for me... a way to organize my thoughts and my knitting projects.  But hey, if you're reading this that is fantastic!
