next project...

Clessidra
Pattern from Knitty.com

Okay, since my first pair of socks were such a success i've decided to make a pair for a friend's upcoming birthday... only problem is her b-day is only a week away! These are very lovely socks, I wonder if it's possible to finish them in a week?

i finished something!!!

So... it is just a pair of socks and i probably wouldn't have been able to finish them if it was that this week is school vacation and my grad. class was cancelled today do to flooding... I should be writing papers and grading my kids' assignments, but look how cute my socks are!

Up close of the leave detail

They are the Zokni Socks from Pepperknits.com. They are my first actually completed pair of socks (i have made another sock or two, but never an actual pair that was wearable!).

science and technology...

i present you with the cingular 8525:
This is how i spent my tax refund... hopefully i won't break it like i have all my other cell phones. Now i can buy yarn and post to my blog even when i am not near a computer! Hooray for technology!

a return to knitting...

Wow... it's been quite some time since i have posted. Unfortunately two jobs and grad school is eating up a lot of my time. I've been tired and sick and stress out for many months now. However, the end is in sight! Only 43 more days left in the school year, then i won't be working and will just have grad school to deal with. I can't wait that long to start knitting though... lately i have been going through knitting withdrawal. So my answer is SOCKS! Socks are my new favorite thing to knit. Quick and portable, they provide me with more instant gratification that larger projects... and i don't have to worry about the pattern containing directions for sizes large enough to fit. Hooray Socks!

I am currently on the foot of this pepperknit pattern.

I am about halfway through with the first sock. For the first time ever i am actually using the exact yarn the pattern calls for... same color and everything. I just happened to have some in my stash. I'll post a picture of my progress soon.
