i am not a patient person....

I HATE WAITING. I am not a patient person, not in the least. I want my KnitPicks order to come and I want it to come NOW! (Daddy I want a golden goose! I want it now! <--- I am acknowledging the fact that I sound like the spoiled brat Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka)

They Came!! They Came!!!

My Denise set came in the mail yesterday! I'm so excited to try them out. Already I can tell they are going to be better than the Boye's set. The cables are soft and flexible, and the needle do not scrap against each other.

I still wonder about the Knit Picks Options though... I might have to get them as well, but not right now. I did order some things from Knit Picks yesterday though!

Their Magnetic Chart Holder:

I also bought several skeins of Shine Worsted (because I've heard great things about it):

In "Blush":

I can't wait for it all to come in the mail!!! I'm so impatient!

New Needles!

I am so excited! I just ordered a set of Denise Interchangeable Needles. I got the extra new needle sizes (17 and 19) and the extra long cable lengths (30, 40, 50 inches approximately).

I bought the Boye's NeedleMaster Set over the summer and I HATE IT! I actually snapped one of the needles while working on my Rusted Root sweater.

I've heard great things about the Denise Set though, so hopefully they'll be worth the $100 I couldn't afford, but spent anyway!

This Socks.

I started making these socks months ago, but have gotten distracted by work and school and other knitting projects. As I was cleaning today I came across this half knitted sock and thought "hmm... maybe I should get around to finishing those!" I was using the broadripple pattern from knitty.com, but I changed the top to just a simple K2P2 rib and made them short. Fits my style a little better that way. Progress so far...

Rusty DNA

My newest endeavor is a cross between the Rusted Root sweater I just finished and the DNA tank top (by squeakyweasel on the craftster site) that I was attempting to make. I discovered when I was making Rusted Root that I really like making top down raglan sweaters. Here is my progress so far:

I hope it comes out well. I'm a middle school science teacher so I think it would be fun to wear to school when I teach the kids about DNA.

Rusted Root is Finished!

I finally finished my Rusted Root Sweater. It took me quite a while since i had to take it apart a few times and start over.

But now I finally have something to wear with this skirt that I bought over the summer!

Hammy and Me

It has come to my attention that I have knitting ADD. My boyfriend once compared me to the hyperactive chipmunk Hamilton in the movie Over the Hedge. My brain moves a mile a minute and I get distracted very easily, so it shouldn't come to as a suprise to find out I have about four or five knitting projects going on at once. Right now my main focus is to try to finish my Rusted Root sweater from Zephyr Style. Although the pattern itself is quite easy, I have struggled with it for some reason. I've taken it apart twice already. Once to switch to a small needle size because the gauge was wrong. Again because when I put the sleeves on scrap yarn and tried it on it was huge!!! So now I'm on my third attempt, but I'm making some progess... here's what it looks like so far:

And here it is with the skirt I am making it to match:

I am also working on this fantastic DNA tank top and these ripple socks, along with a circular shrug in a chunky light green yarn. When I get around to taking pictures I'll post them.
